I love Pansies. They have such cute little faces and are so colourful. I especially prefer the brown and yellow shades – which may be a throwback from my chocolate addiction!
I also love mini Cyclamens, I have pink one in my bathroom at the moment. I have been enjoying looking at the strange shape of the Cyclamen flowers. God is so awesome to design and create such delicate flowers.
After a while, Pansies and Cyclamens start to look a bit messy – flowers droop and turn brown. The overall look isn’t as nice as when you first purchased the plant.
A gardener knows that if she wants to continue to have her pansy plants smothered in beautiful flowers she has to pinch out the brown droopy dead flowers. Then the plant can focus its energy into producing more flowers.
It’s the same with us. There will be hard times in our lives and our “flowers” will start to die. This is when God, our gardener, steps in and pinches out the dead parts. You feel the tugs and pinches in your heart. It hurts! But your loving Father has a plan for you – to produce beautiful flowers in and through your life.
He wants to help to focus your energies onto the best things in your life and not carry around dead clutter. There may be some activities that you are involved in that WAS the best for you but now it isn’t and God wants to move you – either onto a new thing OR to have a rest and a time of refreshing.
Trust that God knows best and allow Him to pinch out your dead flowers in your heart and life.
“Every branch in me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that continues to bear fruit, He [repeatedly] prunes, so that it will bear more fruit [ even richer and finer fruit].” John 15:2 AMP
