America, here’s a note from Godzone – New Zealand.
The world was watching you yesterday. From the deepest south of the globe, we were watching.
We have been watching for a while. We have seen your struggles in this new world.
How you have fought back from 9/11. How you are fighting back from financial hardships.
We have witnessed a divided nation, people fighting people.
The wounds of the past visiting on the generations of today.
Children not safe at home or school. Leaders being corrupt. Business failing.
Change is coming. History is being made. You have chosen a path not walked on.
Your media seems scared of the future. You caught them off guard, America.
I give you a rewritten Psalm , for those who are concerned, who feel unsure of their country’s future:
America’s Psalm 46
God is America’s refuge and strength.
a very present help in elections.
Therefore you will not fear though Trump wins,
though the media and polls were wrong,
though businesses are sold to foreigners and health care is costing you,
though your debt is rising and your homes have lost value.
selah
There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy habitation of the Most High.
God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved:
God will help America when morning dawns.
The nations rage, kingdoms totter:
God utters his voice, the political parties melt.
The Lord of Hosts is with you;
The God of Jacob is your fortress.
selah
Come behold the works of the Lord,
how he has shaken up your political landscape.
He makes powers cease in your land,
he breaks the media and shatters the commentators;
he burns the script with fire.
Be still America and know that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!
The Lord of hosts is with you:
the God of Jacob is your fortress.
selah
We are still watching America.
How are you going to respond to change?
Show us that you can be great again…
heal those wounds,
embrace the new,
fight for justice,
uphold truth,
live in peace and
become one nation under God

Thanks Mike
This is strangely comforting. Nice job repurposing Psalm 46. Our country really isn’t in bad shape except that we are spoiled and not used to not getting our way. Things will get back to normal soon. Thanks. A very creative piece
Thanks Jon
