Milestone: a significant event or stage in the life, progress, development of a person or nation.
I reached another milestone today – I’ve added another year to my life.
I usually take time out at each milestone to pause, reflect and redesign (if need be) my life plan.
One of the major questions that I ask myself is – How has God worked in the details of my life over the past year?
How does a person answer that question?
I don’t know about you, but I find it hard to remember what God did last month let alone a whole year!
That is why I am very BIG on journalling.
I got out my journal from last year this morning to see what God was working on in my life last October.
I was in the middle of a transition – leaving one job and starting a new job. God really worked that one out for my good. Every job that God has led me to has led to an even better opportunity. He planned my paths to cross with my future boss. He placed me in the right place and the right time – to God be the glory!
I was also struggling with achieving balance in my life – between all the different roles that I perform – from homeschooling, chartered accountancy, writing, raising teenagers to keeping home and husband happy. Yes, I think that is still a struggle, maintaining balance, but I feel more freedom now than I have in the past in being present in each role. The issues that I was concerned about in each of my roles – God has weaved his purposes into a wonderful pattern.
It’s not until we step back and look back do we see God’s fingerprints on our life.
Dear God
Thank you for leading me to another milestone in my life.
Thank you for working in the details of my messy real life.
Please continue to open my eyes to see your glory and your fingerprints on my life.
In name of Jesus, Amen so be it.
I would love to hear how you discover God in your messy real everyday life too – please leave a comment
