God showed up on my power walk today.
All I wanted to do was burn some calories while listening to an awesome podcast. But… I had to stop because of the geese.
They were taking their time crossing the path in front of me. Of course I wanted them to speed it up a bit.
They didn’t like how I was speeding them up. I received the full HISS treatment.
Interesting how a geese’s hiss can scare a person – even though I am probably 10 times their size!
So I took the peaceful route and waited and waited. I felt a tap on my shoulder (figuratively speaking) – it was God.
What can you see Rachel?
Now I feel like Jeremiah – didn’t that happen to him?
I didn’t see an almond tree (like Jeremiah) but I saw the reason for the hissing.
2 little teeny weeny fluffy goslings.
Funny how geese are annoying but teeny weeny fluffy goslings are soooo cute.
God showed me that I hadn’t even noticed the little goslings until I was forced to stop.
It was like God was saying – Look! I am doing a new thing, producing new life – don’t you see it?
Ah now I see the new life everywhere – cute ducklings too!
I guess it is suppose to be spring – new life and all. But with days and days of rain – everything is soggy – it didn’t feel like the earth was springing forth new life.
That’s the same in life – circumstances appear to be winterish and stormy but God is still working and producing life.
How do we see His workings?
Well I only really focused on the new life – goslings when I had to stop.
That’s it isn’t it – we need to Stop. Pause. Look. Focus.
See the new thing that God wants us to see.
Is there a new opportunity that is waiting in the wings?
Is there a new friendship that could be fostered?
Is there a new seed that could be shown into someone’s life?
Look for the new thing. That’s God working.
Dear God,
Please help me to see when you have a new thing for me.
Please help me to pause and stop to see your glory and workings.
in the Name of Jesus – Amen – so be it!
I would love to hear how you discover God in your messy real everyday life too – please leave a comment
