Jesus said to them, Truly , truly, I say to you: the Son can do nothing of His own accord, but only what He sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise. For the Father loves the Son and shows Him all that He Himself is doing. John 5:19
Did you see God’s glory yesterday?
This verse in John is quite amazing. Jesus, the Son of God, can do NOTHING on his own – only what He sees the Father doing.
If Jesus can’t do anything without seeing what God is doing then I definitely can’t do anything. I also need to be seeing what God is doing.
God is always at work – in the home, at work, on my morning walk, in my car, at the supermarket, on my website.
I will find His glory everywhere I go. If I look for it.
I guess the first step to finding His glory and what He is working on is to tune in. Tuning in is the same as tuning into a radio station – I have to find the right frequency.
Prayer is God’s frequency. So I am going to take some moments before I start my day to tune in. To pray for God to focus my mind and eyes on His glory and His working in my day.
I see God – His glory and His working – in the pages of my Bible. Sometimes it just jumps out at me and I have to write it all down before I forget. I absolutely love those times.
But I want to also follow Isaiah 6:3 and the above verse – John 5:19 and see God’s glory and His working in my everyday messy real life. I don’t want to put God in a Sunday Church box or a Morning Bible Reading box. I want to see God’s glory and workings 24/7.
Here is the same prayer as yesterday – still praying and watching!
Father God, I thank you for loving me. Please show me 2 things today – your glory on this earth and what you are doing today.
Please open my eyes to see your glory and your work.
Please give me the courage to be part of your work today.
I want to have my eyes focused on your earth filling glory.
I don’t want to be blind anymore.
In Jesus Name I ask
Amen
I would love to hear how you discover God in your messy real everyday life too – please leave a comment

Walking in His Creation of Nature. It gives me Peace and the feeling of Christ Jesus walking with me, admiring the Work of our Heavenly Father. Feel the breeze, depending on the time of year the warmth or chill. Hear the birds, see the wildlife, the deer, the fox… The sky the formation of the clouds… All this shows me that God our Father is still at work taken care of us if we just take a moment that He has given unto us all

Yes Chuck I agree – sometimes we take it all for granted and forget that the whole earth is filled with his glory.
